Superior, WI (NNCNOW.com) --- He may not be 100 this weekend like Duluth's Pickwick, or the Larsmont School building, but those dog years have a way of catching up on you.

This pampered pooch is named Buddy, and he's four years old this weekend.

To help celebrate, the Beagle Dachshund mix and all of his puppy pals threw a birthday party at Dodgies Bar, in Superior, Sunday

Sure, there were actual people involved, mainly bar owner Mike Dodge, and his loyal clientele--many of whom brought Buddy's plentiful friends for the festival.

And while Dodge says he didn't need a reason to throw the second official Buddyfest bash at his bar, he says being able to raise money for the Douglas County Humane Society in the process is the real treat.

Pup party aside, Dodge says it's not uncommon to see dogs in Dodgies at any given time.

"They bring their dogs down here to hang out with him sometimes, and everybody knows him," beamed Dodge, holding the tuckered birthday boy in his arms, "more people know this dog than probably me. He's always here," he laughed.

The Superior Police Department's K–9 unit also made a guest stop at Dodgies to talk about their program, and, of course, to help Buddy celebrate.
