Crash leaves teenager dead, another hospitalized in Douglas Co.

Town of Oakland, WI (NNCNOW.com) - A Lake Nebagamon teenager is dead following a crash in Douglas County. The boy's older sister who was driving is hospitalized.

Authorities say the pickup truck, driven by 19-year-old Natasha Stariah, was traveling westbound on County Highway B in the town of Oakland when it struck a utility truck on the side of the road.

The utility vehicle was partially in the driving lane as one worker was in the ditch spraying brush, according to the Douglas County Sheriff's office.

The passenger in the pickup, 15-year-old Seth Stariah, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver, was taken to a Duluth hospital via ambulance.
The driver of the utility vehicle, 35-year-old Matthew Carlson-Thompson, was uninjured in the crash.

County Highway B was closed until 9 p.m. Wednesday as investigators reconstructed the crash scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
