Washburn Co., WI (NNCNOW.com) - A dead crow in Washburn County has tested positive for West Nile Virus.

The Washburn County Health Department says the bird, found late week, should have people living in the county taking protective measures in an attempt to prevent mosquito bites.

Mosquitos get the virus by feeding on infected birds.

The Health Department says this is the first bird that has tested positive for the virus this year.
