Barksdale, WI (Northland's NewsCenter) --- A man was killed after his vehicle rolled over on Highway 13 near Mission Springs Road.

The Bayfield County Sheriff's Office responded to a call at about 8 p.m. Sunday of a vehicle in the ditch off of Highway 13 in Barksdale.

When deputies arrived on scene they found Timothy J. Funk, 42, of Bayfield trapped inside.

Reports indicate that Funk was heading north on Highway 13 when he crossed the southbound lane and went into the ditch on the west side of the highway.

Funk became air borne going over Boyd Creek and hit the north side embankment, causing the vehicle to flip and land on its roof.

One of the 911 callers, Deborah Compton, 54,was found injured at the scene. She was found under a bridge, and it is believed that she tried to get closed to the accident vehicle and fell 15-20 ft. onto concrete under the bridge.

Compton was transported to Ashland Memorial Medical Center, then airlifted to St. Mary's hospital in Duluth. Her current condition is unknown.
