Superior, WI (Northland's NewsCenter) - The former Congressman of Wisconsin's 7th District was on board the Democrat–led "Heartland Tour, 20–12," which has been touring the Midwest for the past few weeks.
According to tour officials, the purpose of the event is to discuss current "hot–button" election topics, such as job creation, the middle class and the rural economy, with voters.
According to Obey, however, the number one topic in discussion on the tour has been--and will continue to be--health care.
"This morning, what we are emphasizing is the difference between President Obama and the Democrats, and Mr. Romney and the Republicans on Medicare," said Obey.
Obey was the longest–serving member of either house of Congress in Wisconsin's history.
