DULUTH, MIN. --- Here in the Twin Ports, a group of dedicated "techies" are working hard to bring the world's fastest Internet right here to Northern Minnesota and Northwestern Wisconsin. They're called Google Twin Ports, and the group says they have a new challenge for Twin Ports Citizens.
Organizer Patrick Garmoe says the public now has an opportunity to submit their own ideas for what the high-speed line could be used for.
"Google has begun having conversations with the general public about what they might do with one gigabyte of fiber, which is 100 to 1,000 times faster than anything that's currently available," Garmoe said.
The reason: Google has opened up an official discussion forum on the topic as a way to attract potential "Google Fiber Communities."
