October 22, 2013 Updated Oct 22, 2013 at 1:15 PM CST

Madison, WI (NNCNOW.com) --- Governor Scott Walker is asking residents across Wisconsin to help make this year's Capitol Christmas Tree a special one by sending in ornament decorations.

The theme of this year's tree is "Wisconsin Traditions".

“Some pastimes, activities, and events have been bringing families together for decades,” says Governor Walker. “It may be watching the Packers, or deer hunting, or getting together for an annual Harley ride. This year we want the Capitol Christmas tree to reflect all of the things that make Wisconsin great.”

Anyone interested in submitting ornaments symbolizing Wisconsin traditions can send them to the following address until Friday, November 22nd:

Claire Franz
DOA/Division of Facilities Management
17 West Main Street, Suite 119
Madison WI 53703
