Sarasota, FL (NNCNOW.com) - A Hayward man is dead after the plane he was flying crashed in Sarasota, Florida Saturday.
According to WPTV, John Ardoyno, 70, of Hayward was flying the single engine sea plane when it went down shortly after taking off from the Sarasota–Brandenton Airport.
According to the station, firefighters say the plane couldn't get enough altitude.
The plane's passenger was critically injured. Ardoyno died on the scene. The FAA will be investigating the crash.
