Near Baldwin, WI (NNCNOW.com) --- On Wednesday morning a high speed chase on I–94 skidded to a halt after St. Croix County officials used a tire deflation device to stop the vehicle.

Around 3 a.m., a Wisconsin State Patrol Trooper tried to stop a vehicle near Baldwin driven by 20–year–old Austin Szewcik; however, the driver sped up to 110 mph leading the trooper on a chase.

The vehicle exited at Woodville, which is where a tire deflation device was used to stop the vehicle in its tracks.

Before Szewcik was brought to Dunn County Jail, he was arrested for felony eluding, operating a motor vehicle without owner's consent and a bench warrant from Eau Claire County.
