A joint investigation by authorities in Ashland and Bayfield Counties has uncovered stolen items from over twenty burglaries and landed two people in jail.
Local authorities from both counties say they have been investigating several storage unit and residential burglaries that have occurred in the past several months.
Recently, one of the victims gave information to the Ashland County Sheriff’s Office on an item they believed had been stolen from them. With this information and further investigation from the three law enforcement agencies, several search warrants and subpoenas were executed and thousands of dollars worth of stolen items were recovered.
The investigation lead to the clearing of approximately twenty storage unit burglaries and three residential burglaries.
Two arrests have been made. The names of the arrested are being withheld as the investigation is ongoing.
The Ashland and Bayfield County Sheriff's Offices along with the City of Ashland Police Department have assisted in this investigation.
