Man and Dog Found Dead Following Early Morning Fire

Dairyland, WI (Northland's NewsCenter) --- A 47 year old Dairyland, WI man and his dog are dead after their camper trailer went up in flames early this morning.

According to officials, the Douglas County Sheriff's Office and the Town of Dairyland Fire Department responded to a report of a structure fire along Knutson Road in Dairyland, WI around 2:30am Friday morning.

When officers arrived on the scene, they found a camper trailer engulfed in flames.

After firefighters extinguished the flames, they discovered that the occupant and his dog had not made it out of the trailer and both were dead.

John J. Harris has been identified as the victim.

The cause of death and the fire remain under investigation by the Sheriff's Office and the Medical Examiner.
