Man identified in Moose Lake, Wis. drowning

Sawyer County, WI (Northland’s NewsCenter) – A Menasha, Wisconsin man has drowned on Wisconsin’s Moose Lake while he and his family were on vacation.

On June 22, the Sawyer County Sheriff’s Office received a call around 11:00 a.m., from someone staying at the Virgin Timbers Resort of a possible drowning.

68-year-old Thomas McNally was on a pontoon boat with his family when he decided to swim to the shore near the Resort, where he and his family were staying.

Thomas was almost 100 yards from shore when he began having complications and was unable to stay afloat.

The Sawyer County Dive Team searched the area of Thomas’s last known location and recovered his body around 1:00 p.m.

Deputies, Ambulance and Dive Team, along with Round Lake First Responders and Fire Department responded.
