Burnett County, WI (NNCNOW.com) --- Over 3,000 marijuana plants were seized during an investigation into a growing operation in Burnett County, WI.

On Tuesday, law enforcement officers removed a large-scale marijuana grow site located on public lands in the Town of Anderson after hunters reported it to authorities.

Officials say the grow site included an extensive water supply and irrigation system as well as a campsite for the people that were tending the marijuana.

Authorities say that the site appeared to have been active for some time, however the area was recently abandoned.

No suspects have been taken into custody.

The Burnett County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, St. Croix County Sheriff’s Office, and the Wisconsin DNR in the investigation of this incident, removal of the marijuana plants, and processing of the scene for evidence.
