Madison, WI (NNCNOW.com)-- Wisconsin residents from all across the state packed a meeting room in Madison to hear more about legislation that could speed up the permitting process for new mines.
Both the Wisconsin Assembly and the Senate have presented bills rewriting the state's mining laws.
Wedsnday, committees from both Houses heard testimony regarding possible sweeping laws changes.
A large portion of iron ore is under the hills of the Penokee Range in Northwestern Wisconsin, near Mellon.
