Northland Rivers and Streams Overflow Banks

(Northland's NewsCenter)---Heavy rainfall over the past week is saturating soils and generating rapid runoff in river basins across the region.

Many rivers and streams are over their banks.

In some areas near the Nemadji river and golf course in Superior Wisconsin, the water is flooding peoples property.

The National Weather Service in Duluth has issued a flood warning for St. Louis River near Scanlon and Carlton County and the Mississippi River near Aitkin.

Flood warnings for northern Douglas, central Bayfield and central Ashland counties remain in effect until 4:30 Monday afternoon.
