One man is dead and another injured in two separate snowmobile accidents in Wisconsin last night.

According to the Bayfield County Sheriff's Department 45 year old Timothy Patrick O'Meara of Knapp Wisconsin was killed when he failed to stop at a stop sign and was hit by a car near Iron River.

When authorities arrived on the scene they found other snowmobilers giving O'Meara CPR...but it was too late.

Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash.

Several hours later authorities were called to the scene of another snowmobile accident...this time, in the town of Delta.

According to the Bayfield County Sheriff's Department, the injured snowmobiler, a 28 year old Plymouth Minnesota man, collided with another sled in front of him when he failed to notice that that sled began to slow down.

He was airlifted to Saint Luke's hospital in Duluth for treatment.
