Ashland, WI (NNCNOW.com) One person is dead after a house fire in the City of Ashland over the weekend. According to the Ashland Daily Press, fire officials arrived to home on 15th Ave. West around 5:30, Sunday morning. When fire fighters arrived, the wood home was 75 percent engulfed in flames. Fire also damaged a portion of a nearby garage on the property. Efforts to put out the flames were complicated when a hydrant failed on a nearby Avenue. The cause of the fire remains under investigation. The name of the deceased has not been released, pending identification of the victim and notification of family members.
