Superior, WI (Northland's NewsCenter) --- Police are investigating a robbery that occurred this afternoon on Monday, July 16th at the M&I Bank on Tower Avenue and Belknap Street in Superior, WI.

Police were called to the scene of the robbery around noon to the M&I Bank at 1425 Tower Avenue.

Employees at the bank described the suspect as a woman with a stocky build, wearing a blue shirt and a white hat or bandana that concealed her hair.

The woman was described to be wearing a bluish-green, 3/4 length sleeve top, a full length summer dress with a large white floral pattern.

She was thought to be approximately 35-50 years, 5'6" in height and was wearing glasses.

Witnesses say that the woman approached one of the tellers with a note that said she was robbing the bank.

The suspect left the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Officers did surround and enter a building a little after the robbery on Johns Avenue, but returned to the bank shortly after.
