Ashland, WI (NNCNOW.com) - A semi rollover at the intersection of Highway 2 and 13 west of Ashland Saturday caused a portion of Highway 2 to close for about six hours.
According to the Bayfield County Sheriff's Office, no one was injured when a semi driving westbound on U.S. Highway 2 around 7:30 a.m. Saturday failed to negotiate the intersection's round-a-bout and turned over.
Authorities say the driver of the semi, who was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the accident, was cited for inattentive driving.
Bayfield and Ashland County Highway Departments detoured traffic from the intersection while efforts to remove the semi from the roadway were conducted.
The semi and trailer were removed and the highway was reopened at 1:26 p.m.
