Shooting in Burnett County Sends Man to the Hospital

Burnett County, WI (NNCNOW.com) --- One man is in the hospital and another in custody following a shooting in the Town of Scott, WI.

Authorities responded to a report of a person who had been shot at a home in the 28000 Block of County Road A in the Town of Scott around 10:45pm Wednesday.

Deputies located the victim, a 60 year old Spooner man, at another residence. The victim was taken to an area hospital for his injuries. He was than transferred to a hospital in Duluth. The victim's injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

A 56 year old Spooner man has been taken into custody in connection with this incident and is being held at the Burnett County Jail. Authorities say no other suspects are being sought at this time and that criminal charges are pending.

The Burnett County Sheriff's Office is still investigating this incident.

The Siren Police Department, Webster Police Department, and St. Croix Tribal Police also responded to this incident.
