Superior, WI (Northland's NewsCenter) --- More than fifty people spent Saturday afternoon jumping out of planes while competing in a sky diving competition.
Groups of four skydivers and one camera guy jumped from planes near the Skydive Superior base.
The skydivers have 35 seconds to create as many figures and shapes in the sky as they can.
Once they land safely, judges review the video and give the groups a score.
Patrick Mercier, a skydiver and instructor from France has been skydiving for 10 years.
He's jumped more than 3,800 times and says he never gets bored of taking people out on their first jump.
"Some people are terrified; they usually go for a tandem because the instructor is in charge of everything so they just enjoy the ride," Mercier said. "Usually people want to do an AFF just want to challenge themselves. When you go for a skydive, there is pretty much nothing you in life you can't do after that."
Sky diving groups will also be jumping tomorrow starting at 10 a.m.
