Snow Emergency for Ironwood, MI and Ashland, WI

Ashland, WI (NNCNOW.com) --- A snow emergency has been declared for both Ironwood, MI and Ashland, WI following this latest round of snow.

News Release from Ashland, WI

"9 A.M. May 2, 2013 - Ashland, Wisconsin – The City of Ashland has declared another spring snow emergency effective immediately and continuing until all City streets are cleared of snow.

The Public Works Department is struggling in clearing streets from the latest of five late spring snow storms. The heavy wet snows from the ongoing storm have been extremely difficult to move. The prevalence of cars parked on City streets, particularly Main Street, has significantly hampered the ability of the department to clear snow.

During a snow emergency parking is prohibited on all City streets.

The City of Ashland has declared a snow emergency effective immediately. No parking is permitted on any city street until the snow emergency is lifted."

"The Ironwood Public Safety Department, Ironwood Department of Public Works, Gogebic County Sheriff's Department and the Gogebic County Road Commission is declaring a snow emergency for the cities and townships in Gogebic County, Michigan, effective midnight tonight, May 2nd, through 6:00am, Friday May 3rd. The city overnight winter parking ordinances shall be in effect during this time.
