Solon Springs, WI (NNCNOW.com) - The founder of the Solon Springs, Wisconsin laughing club, was killed in a crash on Wednesday.

The Douglas County Sheriff's Department says 85 year old Jo Stewart was driving her car on Highway 53, near the Solon Springs airport, when she pulled out from a stop sign into the path of an oncoming truck.

She died at the scene.

The truck driver wasn't hurt.

Stewart began the laughing club after moving to Solon Springs more than 34 years ago, because she said she liked to see the funny side of life.
