Washburn, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- After 13 years in operation, StageNorth in Washburn, WI will close its doors to be formed into a community run non-profit theater.

Owner John Weinel announced the decision to close at the New Year's Eve Ball saying they will close the theater's doors after the completion of the run of the upcoming production Land of Oz on January 26th.

Weinel says he made this decision for the health of the organization with the continuing presence of the theater in the community as his ultimate goal.

Weinel says all future productions; Painting Churches, CHICAGO!, The Nerd, and A Midsummers Night's Dream, will be halted.
