Superior, WI (NNCNOW.com) - The Superior Curling Club is rolling out the rink for a weekend of cash prizes and competitive fun.
The club is hosting the 4th annual Mulligan Mix Bonspiel giving curlers a chance to compete for cash.
Like golf, calling a mulligan in curling, a rock may be stopped on its path down the ice, giving players another shot, but the more tries, the more it costs competitors.
Organizers say people from across the Midwest and Canada come together for a friendly competition and a chance to win cold hard cash.
"There's a little bit of competition, but a lot of it is camaraderie, a lot these people this the only time they see each other all year long so there's friendships that come together and a lot of good times happen here."
The grand prize for the first place finisher is a cash pot of several hundred dollars.
The event runs through the Sunday at the Head of the Lakes Fairgrounds in Superior.
