Madison, WI (NNCNOW.com)-- More than 200 representatives from Northwestern Wisconsin are pushing lawmakers in Madison to rethink the issues affecting the region.

At the top of the 2013 Superior Days agenda: Mining.

With the possible passage of a mining bill that would bring thousands of jobs to Iron and Ashland Counties, and could possibly change the environment, the usual unified delegation is slightly divided.

But while opinions of the proposed legislation may differ, leaders of the group say talking about a mining bill with lawmakers is necessary.

"We're unified on the fact that the issue has to be discussed. There are opposing views in regard to the issue itself but to come down here and not mention the major bill currently before the legislature would be inappropriate," said Mayor Bruce Hagen, in a Skype interview.
