Superior, WI (Northland's NewsCenter) - The City of Superior has extended the time that residents can dispose of flood damaged items without a fee at the Landfill through July 31st.
The tipping fee was waived after Superior and Douglas County residents were impacted by floods in late June.
For City residents who cannot get the storm-damaged items to the Landfill, contact the Municipal Services Department at 715-394-0244 to get on the list for pick up. Debris should be placed in locations similar to Spring clean-up.
Landfill hours are :
Monday – Friday: 8:00 a.m. - 3:40 p.m.
Saturday: 7 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.
The free service applies to items damaged by the recent flood only and does not include items regularly not taken at Spring Cleanup (for example, appliances, batteries, tires, etc.).
Appliances and electronics are not accepted at Moccasin Mike Landfill. Information on disposal options is available on the Douglas County website at http://www.douglascountywi.org , under “Recycling”, or by calling 715-395-1293.
