Madison, WI (NNCNOW.com) --- A Superior man has been sentenced to 10 years in prison and a lifetime of supervised release for possessing child pornography.

49 year old Timothy Urbanski was given the maximum sentence for the charge of possessing child pornography by U.S. District Judge Barbara Crabb in federal court in Madison, WI.

His sentencing was increased because he possessed more than 600 images, distributed images by e-mail and possessed images involving minors under the age of 12. The judge also found Urbanski to be a danger to children.

Back in July of 2011, a mother brought a cell phone to the Superior Police Department after she found pornography on it. The woman said that the phone was given to her young child by Urbanski who told the child to take pictures with it.

When Urbanski went to collect his phone from the police department, he admitted that it was his.

Authorities executed a search warrant on the phone. Police found seven child pornography videos on it as well as pictures of the defendant.

Authorities then filed a search warrant for Urbanski's home where agents found three laptop computers, five desk top computers, thumb drives, DVDs, CDs and other media.

Investigators also found a pink suitcase and a laundry basket that both contained children's clothing and printed images of child pornography.

Investigators found more than a thousand images of child pornography on the items taken from Urbanski's home.

The charge against Urbanski was the result of an investigation conducted by the Superior Police Department and the Lake Superior Forensic Technology and Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
