Superior Police To Hold Meeting on Arson Cases

April 6, 2012 Updated Apr 6, 2012 at 3:16 PM CDT

DULUTH, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) - The Superior Police Department is holding a neighborhood meeting Monday due the number of recent arson cases in Superior.

The meeting will address neighbor's concerns where the fires have been happening near John and Hughitt Avenue.

The first suspicious fire was on March 20 on John Ave., the second on March 27, and four more fires were found April 3.

All the fires have happened in the early morning hours.

The fires have been on porches, vehicles, garbage cans and campers, and neighbors say they seem to be randomly set, not targeting specific people.

The Superior Police Department and Superior Fire Department continue to investigate the fires and are asking the public to give them any tips or report any suspicious activity, especially in the overnight hours.

Police also want citizens to keep a watchful eye on their property and lock buildings and vehicles.

The meeting is April 9, at 7:00 p.m. in the Government Center Council Chambers and is open to anyone.
