Iron River, WI (NNCNOW.com) --- Three teens are in custody tonight following a fire in Iron River on Sunday. The small town is reflecting on an ice rink that made so many memories.

Deep snow made it difficult to fight the fire that engulfed the "warming building" at the Iron River Ice Rink.

After hours of tough fighting, a Zamboni and other equipment were rescued from the building, but the warming house is gone.

"I was in shock... and I couldn't believe it. Just all the memories of my children skating" said Iron River resident, Michelle Drougas.

Drougas is the owner of the Pizza Parlor in Iron River and like most people in the small town, reflecting on the memories created at the ice rink was the common theme on Monday.

"I've seen and heard twenty to thirty year olds talking about when they played hockey up in Iron River" said Drougas

The fire was allegedly started by two 13 year olds and a 15 year old.
The Iron River Police Department has taken the three juveniles into custody after an anonymous tip.

"Well, it's still under investigation, but they had broken into the warming building and shortly after leaving a fire had started" said Iron River Police Chief, Scot Eisenhauer.

The Town of Iron River took over the rink about three years ago when the hockey association dissolved.
The value of the building is estimated at about 50-thousand dollars and after being considered a loss, it's a cost that the Town of Iron River will have to take into consideration if a new one is to be built.

The juveniles involved in the fire have been turned over to Bayfield County Human Services pending charges.
