Two Charged in Barker's Island Shooting

Superior, WI (Northland's NewsCenter) --- Two Superior men have been charged in a shooting spree on Barker's Island earlier this week.

20 year old Matthew Jaeckels, has been charged with discharging a firearm from a vehicle, towards a person last Wednesday.

20 year old Joseph Daniel Madison has also been charged with the same offense and as a party to a crime.

Two men were arrested in the incident after at least one shot was allegedly fired from Madison's Pickup truck, toward two people on Barker's Island.

The men face the potential of more than 12 years in prison and fines of up to $25,000.

Madison has also been charged with obstructing an officer, which is a misdemeanor that carries additional prison time plus a fine of up to $10,000.

During the arrest police say they confiscated multiple weapons, including a 38 caliber handgun, three knives, and a box of arrow tips.
