DOUGLAS CO., WI (Northland's NewsCenter) - It was a deadly evening commute today.

Two people were killed in a two-car accident along Tower Avenue in the Village of Superior just off of North 69th Street.

When officials arrived, they found man and a woman in a Ford Explorer, which had rolled into the ditch.

The woman was ejected from the vehicle and the man still inside.

Both were killed. It is unknown whether they were wearing their seat belts, however authorities believe they likely were not.

A woman from the other vehicle involved, a Ford Escape, was sent to the hospital.

Both vehicles were headed southbound.

The accident happened where the speed changes up to 55 miles per hour and the road forces cars to merge from four to two lanes.

The identities of those involved are expected to be released tomorrow.
