Madison, WI (NNCNOW.com) - Two units from the Wisconsin Army National Guard will deploy to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom this spring.

More than 160 soldiers with the 829th Engineer Company, headquartered in Chippewa Falls, with a detachment in Ashland, will head overseas to the southern part of the country in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

The unit will be responsible for tearing down bases and reclaiming materials along with recovering U-S property.

A Sussex-based Artillery Regiment will provide fire support for coalition forces.

The Wisconsin National Guard is currently planning sendoff ceremonies for both units.
