Superior, WI (NNCNOW.com) - UW Superior celebrated the grand reopening of the school's state of the art renovated residence hall buildings.

Three years and 15 million dollars later the UWS community came together to celebrate the renovations to the Hawkes and Ross Halls residence halls.

The building has the capacity to house up to 440 students in luxury, single and double-style rooms.

The main section of the building called "The Link," features study and lounge areas including an inviting fireplace.

Residence Life officials say the renovations are a perfect fit to the growing UWS community.

"It's a labor of love and it's for the students and it's from the students. As somebody who works with the students, it's so exciting to see the facility finally come to fruition. The students love it here, we have a lot interest of students coming to live on campus and it's just so exciting to be in the hall and see the community here," said Mickey Fitch, UWS residence life.

The project was funded entirely through resident student fees without a tuition hike.
