Superior, WI (NNCNOW.com)--- Day two has wrapped up in the trial of a prominent Eau Claire doctor.
Dr. David Van De Loo is facing charges of sexually assaulting fifteen boys who were his patients.
Seven witnesses took the stand for the prosecution, the first being the 16-year-old boy who first made the allegations against Dr. Van De Loo.
The boy, now 17, testified that he saw Doctor Van De Loo in August of 20-12 for a routine sports physical examination.
During that exam, he claims Van De Loo touched his genitals for nearly a half an hour, trying to arouse him.
The boy testified that he felt very uncomfortable and embarrassed and felt like he was in the exam room forever.
He said he just wanted the appointment to be over.
We don't show alleged victims in a sexual assault case.
The young man was given a highlighter to demonstrate to the jury how Van De Loo touched him.
He reported the doctor's actions to his parents, who then reported the actions to the nursing supervisor at the Mayo.
The victim's parents testified that Van De Loo was apologetic and said he used poor judgment in not letting them know of the procedure he would be performing on their minor son.
The nursing supervisor, Jo Bartholomew, wrapped up testimony today saying she met with the victim's parents and they asked her what the typical adolescent physical exam procedure was for boys.
Bartholomew said the boy's parents were visibly upset, and met with Dr Van De Loo.
"Did you do anything following that meeting with parents and Doctor Van De Loo? ," asked Prosecutor Gary King
" I remember telling Dr. Van De Loo that he needed to report this," said Bartholomew.
And when you say report this, what are you talking about," asked King.
"He needs to call his medical director," said Bartholomew.
Bartholomew reported the incident the next day, and Van De Loo was put on paid administrative leave.
He was fired nearly two weeks later.
Van De Loo is expected to testify in his own defense.
The trial is moving a little faster than expected, and could wrap up sooner than the original three weeks there were projected.
