Superior, WI (NNCNOW.com) --- Nighttime access on Moccasin Mike and Wisconsin Point Roads will be limited starting Sunday as crews work to haul fill from the landfill to the former landfill site.
Starting around 11 p.m. on Sunday, Moccasin Mike and Wisconsin Point Roads will be closed at Wisconsin Point Road prohibiting access to Wisconsin Point, Schaefer's Beach, and Dutchman's Creek for three nights.
Jeff Goetzman, Director of Public Works for the City of Superior says that construction of Cell #5 at moccasin Mike Landfill is necessitating the hauling of approximately 60,000 cubic yards of fill from the landfill to the former landfill site.
The excavating company will increase the number of trucks hauling at night.
Daytime access to the point will continue, but motorists could experience delays due to flagmen assisting traffic flow during the daytime hauling.
The road closures are not expected to inconvenience people visiting the point at night, as there is a currently a vehicular curfew by ordinance of 11 p.m.
