Helicopter helps Lutsen Mountain chairlift installation

Lutsen, MN (NNCNOW.com) - A new high-speed chairlift is being installed at Lutsen, with a little help from up above.

A helicopter flew over the mountain on Friday to install 13 lift towers more than 20 feet tall for the new Caribou Express chairlift.

The new system promises to triple skier's slope time and cut the waiting time down from 10 minutes to three and-a-half minutes.

It's all part of a 10-year, $20 million investment at the mountain including new runs and dining options.
