SUPERIOR, WI (Northland's NewsCenter) - The Boys and Girls Club of Superior helped the city celebrate Arbor Day with the planting of two trees just off of Catlin Avenue.
Through a demonstration and some hands-on work, the kids learned how to dig the hole, place the tree and set the dirt to make sure tree can thrive.
The Superior Council President also proclaimed the day Arbor Day and club members read a poem about trees.
"Well, this is important because trees are important because they give us shelter and they produce oxygen, so this is basically a day to honor the trees," said 11-year-old Jasmine Thundercloud.
The celebration helps to meet criterion for the city's Tree City USA designation.
