June 4, 2013 Updated Jun 5, 2013 at 9:38 AM CST

Two Harbors, MN (NNCNOW.com) -- The Minnesota Department of Health has lifted a water advisory for Agate Bay Beach in Two Harbors.

On Tuesday, beach goers were advised to stay out of the water at Agate Bay Beach due to elevated E. coli bacteria.

The elevated E. coli bacteria levels were said to be from fecal contamination in the water at the beach.

However, the fecal indicator bacteria levels and averages have returned to acceptable levels.

The Minnesota Health Department is still advising beachgoers that if they become sick after coming into contact with the water, to please call the Minnesota Health Department.
