-- Northlanders have the chance get a first hand look at the fall bird migration, right off Skyline Parkway in Duluth.
The Hawk Ridge Nature Reserve is providing bird watchers free binocular rentals to watch about 80-thousand migratory species bypass Duluth.
Starting now through the end of October, naturalists and volunteers will educating people about the variety of birds heading south.
Guides say that the information taught at Hawk's Ridge will come in handy all year long.
"When people can put a name to something their seeing, all of a sudden it becomes more real to them. So if they come here and see a red tail hawk, and then they drive home down I-35 and there's a red tail hawk sitting on a lamp post they immediately come back hear in their minds."
The programs begin at nine in the morning and run untill four in the afternoon.
