Grand Marais, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) - After failing at his first attempt in 2009, a Photographer and outdoor enthusiast from Grand Marais is celebrating after a solo kayaking expedition.
Bryan Hansel just wrapped up a 45 day, 800 mile trip on two of the Great Lakes.
He battled storms, waves up to 6 feet high and a number of equipment failures on his journey.
Hansel says he took on the trip to challenge himself, relieve his wanderlust and his spring fever.
In 2009, a trip to circumnavigate all the great lakes was cut short when a very bad case of tendonitis flared up after a very short distance.
