September 12, 2012 Updated Sep 12, 2012 at 10:06 AM CDT

Duluth, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- The National Weather Service has issued a red flag warning across Northern Minnesota due to continued dry conditions across the state.

The fire danger warning has been issued for western Koochiching County, Voyageurs National Park, Northern St. Louis County, Superior National Forest, Northern Itasca County and the Chippewa National Forest.

As of Tuesday, the Minnesota DNR listed these areas between high and very high fire danger.

The National Forest Service has placed a restriction on campfires in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area due to the high fire danger and the recent fires that have popped up in the area.

Campfires are only allowed in the BWCA between 7pm and midnight.
