Duluth, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) --- Christmas came early for the Lake Superior Zoo Thursday as three new members were welcomed into the family.
Three gray wolves are on loan to the zoo from the Wildlife Science Center in Forest Lake.
The three wolf brothers have yet to be named; zoo officials hope to fix that in the coming days.
The donation was made in hopes of educating the public and officials from the Wildlife Science Center said people will have no problem getting a look at the animals.
"They are not tame. What they are convinced of, though, is that they can be in this enclosure and not be in danger from us," the Wildlife Science Center's executive director Peggy Callahan said. "That means people are going to have a terrific opportunity to see behavior and physically how they look. It's going to be a neat chance for people to learn about them, up close and personal."
A public grand opening for the wolf exhibit is scheduled for December 31 at 11:00 a.m.
