MDH Removes Leif Erikson Park Beach Advisory, Adds Three More

The Minnesota Department of Health has removed the advisory on Leif Erikson Park Beach

Fecal indicator bacteria levels and averages have returned to acceptable levels.

The beach is located in Duluth, below Leif Erikson Park.

While, the MDH has put advisories on the 42nd Avenue East Beach, the Minnesota Point Haroborside / 15th Street Beach (formerly New Duluth Boat Club / 14th Street Beach) and the 20th Street / Hearding Island Canal Beach.

The advisories are put in place for elevated E. coli bacteria levels that were identified from samples taken on August 7.

The beaches will be re-sampled on August 8.
