Washburn County, WI (Northland's NewsCenter) - A man has apparently drowned after falling overboard without a life jacket on Dilly Lake in Washburn County.

Authorities say Timothy Francis Anderson, 42, of Inver Grove Heights was in a small boat with a female occupant at around 8 p.m. Saturday when he stood up and fell overboard, causing the female to fall out and the boat to capsize.

The Washburn County Sheriff's Office says a husband and wife in a pontoon boat pulled the two out of the water. Both had attempted to swim to shore.

Neither was wearing a life jacket, although they were present.

Emergency responders administered CPR to Anderson at the scene, but he later died at the Spooner Hospital.

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources is investigating the incident.
