St. Paul, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) - The state park reservation service—both online and the phone system—is still down and will remain unavailable at least through the weekend.
The MN DNR on its website reports it has isolated the problem—it is an application capacity issue. The DNR says the system was simply unable to handle the high demand for state park reservations that came in starting at 8 a.m. March 1.
The DNR says it is working closely with the vendor, and is committed to fixing the problem.
In the meantime, the DNR say it will not take online or phone reservations for summer camping and lodging until they are confident that the system can handle the demand.
However, customers wishing to reserve lodging at a Minnesota state park in March (and only March), may continue to call parks directly to make those reservations.
