From now through October, beachgoers can access ParkPointBeach.org to find current information about current weather and safety conditions along Minnesota's busiest Lake Superior beach, Minnesota Point.
The public service website will deliver information about current air, water and safety conditions, as well as offer easy access to updated water temperature, wave height, UV index, rip current risk, weather, and bacteria warning, all assembled from the National Weather Service and other organizations.
Every hour, a photograph of the beach will be uploaded from Solglimit Bed and Breakfast's webcame.
The University of Minnesota Duluth's radio station, 103.3 KUMD will broadcast reports on ParkPointBeach.org at 10:00 a.m., Monday - Friday during the summer.
The website is a product of a water safety collaboration lead by the University of Minnesota Sea Grant Program and funded by the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative.
