Duluth, MN (Northlands NewsCenter)
-- Rollerblading might be the last thing on your mind with the sub-zero temperatures we experienced today.

But officials from the north shore inline marathon are heating things up with a big addition to their annual summer race.

The "Wheels Off" half Marathon will be included in the 17th annual northshore inline marathon.

Officials representing the marathon wanted to include a new group of people to enjoy their unique course that starts in Two Harbors, follows the North Shore and dips onto I-35, ending in Canal Park.

Skeeter More, the Executive Director of the marathon is hoping this new group of athletes will bring a new economic boost to Duluth in September.

"We are happy to be participating in bringing in this kind of economic impact in to Duluth and we are feeling that adding running this will defiantly help expose that and expand it"

The course will also have 5.6 miles repaved on Highway 61.

The event is the largest inline marathon in the United States.
