Warmer temps and fresh snow made for a great opening day at the Chester bowl ski hill.

The park has been open since 1905, making this the one hundred and eighth season welcoming skiers and snowboarders alike.

Nearly one thousand people per hour are able to go down the hill.
With that many people on the slopes, a little extra snow never hurts.

"We did a lot of snow–making and we got that snowstorm. We did a little more snowmaking to fill in the rough spots and it's excellent conditions. A wonderful turnout, it's fantastic," says Chester Bowl Director Thom Storm.

The chairlift at Chester Bowl is in operation Thursday through Monday.
