Douglas County, WI (Northlands Newscenter) --- A wild land fire torched an acre of land near Amnicon Lake earlier Saturday.

Fire crews from the towns of Superior, Summit, and Oakland responded to 30 foot flames near a campground.

It took fire crews about 30 minutes to contain the blaze.

Officials say nobody was hurt in the fire, and no structures were damaged. They say the flames took off fast due to the dry conditions.

"We are definitely in a draught. You can tell by the grass your standing on right now. We've been spraying water underneath the fire trucks so we don't start the grass on fire under the trucks," said Summit Fire Chief Steven Fegraeus.

An investigation is underway to find to cause of the fire. It does not look suspicious at this time.
